HR Service:
Job Evaluation
Sector:
Food Manufacturer
Brief:
Commissioning HR was engaged to review the pay and grading structure of hourly paid staff in a food manufacturer.
Support:
The study was undertaken by initially gaining familiarity with roles through observation. The scope of the Job Evaluation and Pay Review project covered the following stages: identification of unique Job Roles, identification and understanding of existing pay arrangements and undertaking of Job Evaluation of identified roles under the job evaluation scheme.
Outcome:
Comprehensive data analysis on the job evaluation results was undertaken to highlight posts which were underpaid and overpaid, applying the scheme. We undertook a pay modelling and benchmarking exercise against similar roles and industries to assess how the organisation compared to the local and regional market.
A report of the findings was presented to the Managing Director and guidance for implementation was given to ensure a fair process was followed for moving to a new pay structure.
