HR Service:
Post TUPE Development
Sector:
Education – Multi-Academy Trust
Brief:
Commissioning HR provided HR Consultancy Support to a newly established Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) in the early stages of their development. This was a complex organisation that TUPE’d 35 schools from 7 different Local Authorities. The MAT initially wanted a review of the outsourced HR provision they had inherited and look to develop a new internal HR model.
Support:
The MAT initially engaged Alison to undertake a study of the HR provision support they still had in place across 9 different HR providers. The study reviewed the core aspect of each school’s current provision in terms of the services provided, the cost and the perception of value they added.
Outcome:
The study led to proposing and developing an in-house HR provision model. Alison continued to support the in-house HR team in an advisory and mentoring capacity spanning a 4-year period. Alison became their go to and ‘phone a friend’ for advice on terms and conditions and case work.
The MAT further engaged Commissioning HR to develop a suite of HR Policies that fit the requirements of the schools, built upon the unique ethos of the organisation, whilst being mindful of any TUPE’d or protected terms. Alison Lambert set up a Policy Drafting Group with the recognised Trade Unions to engage with and gain their buy in to policy development. Alison built a sound working relationship with the Trade Unions who saw the new policies as models of good practice for the education sector and other large organisations.
